UAE, Iraq: UAE Embassy In Iraq To Reopen

The United Arab Emirates will reopen its embassy in Iraq during UAE Foreign Minister Sheik Abdullah bin Zayed al-Nahyan’s June 5 visit, Kuwait news agency KUNA reported, citing an Iraqi government spokesman. Al-Nahyan, whose visit comes at the invitation of Iraqi Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari, will meet with Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki to discuss restoring UAE diplomatic representation in Iraq. The United Arab Emirates is set to appoint an ambassador to Iraq in coming days, Reuters reported, citing the Iraqi government. Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki has said he welcomes the United Arab Emirates’ efforts to boost diplomatic representation in his country.
